Registering rental property in the East of England

If your rental property is in the East of England, you can register from 15 January 2027 and must be registered by 14 April 2027.

Sources: Private Rented Sector Database Regulations 2026, Schedule 1 (extent of each region) (opens in a new tab); Get ready: 'Register your rental property' service (government Housing Hub) (opens in a new tab). Last checked 20 October 2026.

The East of England is region 2 of 9 in the rollout. The date depends on where the property is, not where you live. If you let property in more than one region, each property follows its own region's dates.

Dates could still change. When we last checked, the Private Rented Sector Database Regulations 2026 appear on legislation.gov.uk as a draft approved by both Houses of Parliament but not yet made as a numbered statutory instrument. The separate commencement regulations that bring the registration duty into force were not found. Dates could still change.
