Terms of use and sale
Last updated 20 October 2026.
1. Who we are
We are Landlord Checkpoint. Email alasadi.dev@gmail.com. In these terms "we" and "us" means Landlord Checkpoint, and "you" means the person using the site.
2. This is guidance, not legal advice
Landlord Checkpoint is an independent guide. It is not the government's Register your rental property service and is not connected to the government or any council. You register on the official service, not here.
We explain the rules in plain English and link each one to its official source, with the date we last checked it. We work hard to keep it accurate, but the rules are new and can change. Nothing on this site, in our emails or in the Readiness pack is legal advice, and we do not promise that using it makes you compliant. You remain responsible for meeting your legal duties as a landlord. If your situation is unusual, check the official guidance or get professional advice.
3. Using the site
The deadline checker, checklist, region pages and reminder emails are free. Please do not misuse the site, for example by trying to break it or by signing other people up for emails.
4. Buying the Readiness pack
The Readiness pack is not on sale yet. These terms will apply when it is.
- What you get: online access for 12 months to a personal tracker where you enter your certificate expiry dates, email reminders before anything expires and before your registration deadline, a gap report that flags problems (for example an EPC below the minimum rating), step-by-step instructions for using the official registration service, and a one-page guide to the Section 13 rent increase rules.
- Price: £19, paid once. There is no subscription and it does not renew automatically. We are not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged.
- Payment: by card through Stripe. We never see your full card details.
- The contract: starts when your payment goes through and we email you a confirmation, which includes a copy of these terms.
- Reminders: we take reasonable care to send them on time, but email can be delayed or filtered as spam, so please keep a note of your key dates too.
5. Your right to cancel
Normally you can cancel an online purchase within 14 days. The Readiness pack is digital content that you can use as soon as you have paid. At checkout we will ask you to tick a box to say that:
- you want access to start straight away, within the 14-day cancellation period, and
- you understand that you lose your right to cancel once access starts.
This is allowed under regulation 37 of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. We will confirm your consent and acknowledgement in your confirmation email. This does not affect your rights if something is wrong with the pack (see section 6).
6. If something is wrong
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality, and any service must be provided with reasonable care and skill. If something is wrong, email us. We will fix it or, if we cannot fix it within a reasonable time, give you some or all of your money back.
7. Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for losses caused by your own decisions about your properties. Because the site is general guidance and not legal advice (section 2), we are not responsible for fines or other penalties you receive, unless they are caused by us breaking these terms. Our total responsibility for the Readiness pack is limited to the price you paid, except where the law does not allow us to limit it.
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit, and nothing affects your legal rights as a consumer.
8. Complaints
If you are unhappy, email alasadi.dev@gmail.com. We aim to reply within 2 working days and to sort things out within 14 days.
9. Changes and law
We may update these terms, for example when the rules change. The version that applies to a purchase is the one in force when you buy. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales (or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in your local courts).
